Basic Wheel Throwing

Learn the basics of creating wheel-thrown pottery in a working studio. Subjects covered will include wedging, centering, creating basic forms, and trimming. The last class will focus on glazing and decorating projects.  A beginning student should expect to have 3-4 finished pieces when completed with class.

All supplies are included, 25 lbs. of clay, a tool set, and use of studio equipment.  Students are welcome to bring their own tools.  Additional clay can be purchased separately.

Ages 14+

Space is limited to 2 students per class

Open Studio

Open Studio time is available to experienced students, or students currently enrolled in a 5 week class. This open format is self-directed for those looking to practice, finish class projects or work on separate projects. Staff will be on hand for general questions, but students are encouraged to work on their own.

Clay must be purchased from the studio to ensure a successful drying and firing process, and students are welcome to use studio tools.

Ages 18+

Space is limited to 4 students per class

Handbuilding

Handbuilding is another method of creating pottery pieces. This can include everything from Christmas ornaments to sculpture pieces. Handbuilding is done using slab construction, coil method, pinch method or other method using only hands and tools. Students will have basic objectives to learn skills necessary to join clay together and learn decorative techniques to create durable aesthetic or functional work.

Children's Classes & Parties

Looking for something different than a pizza party? Art parties can be tailored to any age level for a fun, unique experience.  Plus, all attendees will get to create an item that will be fired and available to pick up at a later date. All ages are welcome, parental supervision is required for students under 10 years old. Please contact Katie for rates, dates available and any other questions.

Girl's Night Out, Couples & Team Building Parties

Want an excuse to get the girls together for a fun night out? Try your hand at the wheel or create a handbuilt project during an exclusive party! Couples Nights are also a great way to try out wheel throwing or handbuilding with your significant other. Team Building Parties are available for a fun, creative, relaxed environment and can be modified for all skill levels or project goals. Parties are welcome to bring their own food and beverages.
